id’s RAGE to be published by EA
BY Rain Anderson Jul. 15th, 2008 More on:

id Software has decided to change homes it seems. During EA’s E3 press event, it was announced that the Doom-creator’s newest title, RAGE, using the company’s new id Tech5 game engine, will be published by EA instead of their usual publishing partner Activision. No one knows much about RAGE yet, but it’s being touted as a fresh approach an a new take on the first-person shooter genre.

RAGE represents a new direction for our games,” said Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software. “RAGE is a shooter unlike any other, developed on our cutting edge new technology, and built to the exacting standards id is famous for. We’re excited to have the support of EA Partners to launch RAGE on the world.”

John Carmack made a symbolic appearance at the event supporting the agreement, and while nothing except the above trailer was released or said, he did promised that more details on the game would be revealed during id’s QuakeCon event which start late this month.

RAGE is in development for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Mac. Stay tuned for more.

Looks like Mad Max meets Hills Have Eyes.

      I like it…

That is one of the more impressive game trailers I’ve seen in awhile. The movement is really smooth and is it just me or are there a lot of polygons going on.
