DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 2 burning up the dance floor this fall
BY Ricardo BiltonJuly 16th, 2008 More on:

It’s not often that a game with such an unequivocally insurmountable qualifier like “hottest” gets a sequel, so when it does, surely it should not be ignored. DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 2, the sequel to the 2007 Wii title with the slightly varying name, offers pretty much what you would expect from a DanceDanceRevolution sequel - new songs, costumes, courses, etc - with a number of somewhat unsurprising additions.

For one, Konami decided to implement Wii functionality into their latest DDR title, allowing players to tear things up in avatar form. Taking another step forward to cater to the Wii’s strengths, DDR also features a whole new batch of Gimmicks - read: things you will turn off soon after booting the game - into the mix. The esoterically-named ‘Minimizer,’ for instance, allows players to — and this is just conjecture — deal with the onslaught of minimized arrow indicators. Other Gimmicks have yet to be revealed.

Konami has confirmed a few tracks so far: Maroon 5’s “Makes Me Wonder,” Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Michael Jackson “Black or White,” and the Go-Go’s “We Got the Beat” will all be included in the soundtrack for Hottest Party 2.

Oh, and the game also supports Wii remote and Nunchuk waggle, but I’m sure you already knew that.
