In an industry where exclusive games on a singular system is quickly going the way of the dinosaur, it appears that securing exclusive content is the new flash, and Microsoft appears to be leading the forefront with securing exclusive content rights to upcoming games. Their latest conquest? Bethesda’s highly anticipated Fallout 3.
As announced at E3 by Microsoft and now once again confirmed by Bethesda’s Pete Hines, Xbox 360 and PC versions of Fallout 3 will be getting exclusive DLC. Hines didn’t specify what exactly that content would contain, when it would arrive, or if Microsoft had made them an offer they couldn’t refuse by way of large amounts of cash currency. All we know right now is that the DLC will be “substantial,” as executive producer Todd Howard put it last week.
Fallout 3 will be available this fall for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

yeah I think ms has been upstaging Sony in terms of “exclusive” content. Both systems have there fair share of exclusive game, but ms is giving gamers more bang for the buck with tv content. It’s funny a Sony exec recently was talking about how 3rd party devs look at the rise and sales of the ps3 and that pry will help them want to get more games out on the system. But I’m also sure devs look at the fact that the majority if the software being sold no matter if it’s exclusive or multiplat is being sold on the 360 and wii respectively. And its personally more enticing to buy a multiplat game for xbox. Between content and live it just makes more sense to me.
