PS3 not looking to become this gen’s PS2 just yet

Sony Global PlayStation President Kaz Hirai sat down with MCV UK recently to talk about Sony’s future strategy for the PS3. The skinny is that they’re looking to make a solid push towards the mainstream by appealing to a broader audience, eventually: “If we’re talking about the casual gamer, the PS2 is probably the right choice for them. We don’t need the PS3 to feel like the console that will appeal to everyone at this point. We don’t need to have one console try to be everything to everybody just yet.”
