Take-Two and Wii a match made in heaven?
BY Se Ajala Jul. 30th, 2008 More on:

One of the more pleasant surprises to come out of Nintendo’s E3 conference was the announcement of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS. Later on, MTV’s Multiplayer blog asked Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime if the public could expect to see a GTA game on the Wii as well. “..from our standpoint, if they build a bottoms-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I’d love to see it on the platform,” was Reggie’s response.

Take-Two CEO Ben Feder sort of responded to the gauntlet thrown down by Reggie, and said the following in a recent interview with GameDaily, “..we know the Wii pretty well. We’re building up assets to develop for the Wii and we’re excited about its growth. I can’t comment on GTA specifically on the Wii…” We’ll take that as a “yes, it’s coming”.

Feder also laid out Take-Two’s company line and took an off handed swipe at the loads of developers pushing shovelware on any console and trying to make a quick buck, “Our goal is to be the most creative and innovative company in the industry. You don’t get there by just porting and dumping games on the shelves. You get there by looking at the platform and creating games specifically for that platform.”
