Mass Effect making its way to the DS?
BY Greg LockwoodAugust 9th, 2008 More on:

Ever since Bioware announced Mass Effect, we’ve known that it was only the first part of a planned trilogy. It looks like the series may not be confined to the trilogy, however, as hinted at by one of Bioware’s designers, Miles Holmes, in an interview with GamesIndustry. Holmes is currently working on Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, which is Bioware’s first foray into handheld gaming. After Sonic Chronicles is done, Bioware has a few ideas for future Nintendo DS games, one of them being Mass Effect.

“We have a lot of big plans for Mass Effect. Having a DS version would be an awesome way to keep interest alive and keep it going in addition to the next one” Holmes says. Since Mass Effect 2 is likely quite a ways off (hopefully not though), a DS title would be a good way to keep Mass Effect in front of the consumer for now. As long as the game was a well-crafted, stand-alone title and not just a way to make a quick buck off the masses that own a DS, this could be a very interesting platform transition. Knowing Bioware, we have little reason to doubt them.

This could be the one title that would push me towards picking up a DS. If it has a new story that is.
