Diablo III is the end, but also it’s not the end

Does that title confuse you? Well good, cause it’s needlessly confusing since the real news is simply that Diablo III will only be the end of the current Diablo trilogy, but not to worry, there will be plenty more Diablo out there afterward. While speaking with MTV Multiplayer, Diablo III’s lead designer Jay Wilson said, “We’re not saying this is the end of the Diablo universe, but we are trying to bring this storyline to a close. It’s not just Diablo III — we’ve got plans beyond.”

Surprised? I don’t know why anyone would be. Sure, the third game is going to round out the trilogy and bring some characters back from the first two, but that doesn’t mean the universe is dead. If the recent fervor over a slight change in color scheme has tought us anything, it’s that the Diablo franchise is a money maker, and game developers and producers love money makers. It also happens to be an incredible trilogy (I’m jumping the gun here on the third one) of games. Why stop at three? If they’re great games that people have fun playing, I say pump them out until the end of time or until they’re forced to make Diablo 172: Diablo Harder.

LOL I agree and I love the name “Diablo Harder”

I wouldn’t mind having Diablo III to be the end of ‘that’ series.

Heck, it’d be fun to be Diablo himself in Diablo IV. Destroy all humans…
