Being the second major game of the vehicular combat genre to come out, after the popular Twisted Metal, Vigilante 8 has always been sort of underappreciated. Though it had superior graphics and a nifty combo system, it never quite caught on like the Twisted Metal series did. Luckily for us, Isopod Labs is giving gamers a second chance to discover the Vigilante 8 series, with a new Xbox LIVE Arcade title, Vigilante 8 Arcade. The new game which will be a combination of both the original title and its sequel, Second Offense, both of which were released in the late nineties.

Vigilante 8 Arcade will cost 800 Microsoft Points and will have future downloadable content. The first planned DLC pack will feature 3 bonus playable characters and 2 extra maps. There is no set release date yet, but we can assume it will be fairly soon, as Isopod Labs has just submitted the final game build to Microsoft so it can be approved for download.
