Bionic Commando Rearmed will not be distributed through Steam
BY Greg LockwoodAugust 15th, 2008 More on:

While Steam has been an excellent way of distributing computer games digitally, and Capcom was planning on using it to release its updated retro classic Bionic Commando Rearmed, it’s looking like that won’t be the case. Speaking with Shacknews, Capcom corporate officer Christian Svensson explains why the distribution deal won’t happen. “At the last minute, we’ve been unable to reach mutually agreeable terms with Valve on BCR, so they won’t be carrying it…I won’t get into the details but we do continue to have a good relationship with Valve and future Capcom titles we expect to be carried on Steam.”

While we wish Svensson had gone into more detail about what the complications were, for now all we can do is accept the fact that they won’t be using Steam to distribute Rearmed. PC users can still download the game from Direct2Drive or GamersGate though.

The real disturbing issue here is that if gamers want the PC version it will cost them $14.99, as opposed to the $9.99 and 800 Microsoft Point price points on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE, respectively.
