Warner Music Group offers up music videos for Xbox LIVE
BY Brittany VincentAugust 15th, 2008 More on:

Warner Music Group has announced that its music videos, including artists like Panic! At The Disco, T.I., Death Cab For Cutie, and Cute is What We Aim For would be made available for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

“Xbox 360 has been an important partner in our efforts to offer consumers more ways to experience our artists’ music and this is especially true among gamers who are some of the most passionate music fans. With this agreement, we can take advantage of Microsoft’s music platform and provide gamers what they want: music videos from their favorite artists that can be downloaded quickly and easily,” said Larry Mattera, Senior Vice President, of WMG U.S.

You can snap up some videos of your favorite Warner Music Group artists beginning this week. Now if only we could get some J-Pop representation.

This is a step in the right direction for music videos, but i’m wondering what the price point will be on these.

I would also hope that Microsoft would wise-up and give away a bunch of cool content as well (remember Mr. Xbox 360 - you are competing with a very open and FREE internet). You can gain loyalty by giving 360 users content, and then asking us politely if we’d like some more (at a cost).

But don’t expect us to close our firefox browser and rush over to download a music video for 400 points.

Give us a reason to do that.

Like behind the scenes videos, making of, documentaries, content usually found on DVD box sets.

And like I said. Some free content.

Ease us in, and we just might bite.
