It’s been known for some time now that Chrono Trigger DS is coming out during the holiday season of 2008, but before today we had little more information than that. Today, however, Square Enix sent out a press release informing us that the re-release of the RPG classic will be available on Nov. 25. Though the date is over three months away, Chrono Trigger DS has already received numerous awards, such as “Best RPG” and “Best DS Game” at this year’s E3.
A few new details, along with others that were already common knowledge, were announced today as well. We’ve known that there is going to be touch screen functionality, as well as a new dungeon, but the press release today boasts of “Brand-new dungeons”. One extra dungeon would have been fine, but if Square Enix wants to give us more, that’s fine by me. There is also mention of an “Arena mode”, though there are no details to describe what exactly this Arena mode encompasses. Looks like we will have to wait until Nov. 25 to find out.
