Kojima is tired of MGS4 Xbox 360 speculations

Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, is fed up with all the questions about whether or not Metal Gear Solid 4 will make an appearance on the Xbox 360. Don’t pick up your torch and pitchfork just yet though, Kojima understandably just wants some more focus on the game itself rather than antiquated hardware questions.

“I’ve been doing a lot of interviews and stage shows, and half the questions are like ‘Will MGS4 be coming out on 360 or other formats?’, and in the near future I hope they’ll ask me about Metal Gear, about us, about our future projects, and will stop caring about the hardware,” Kojima said in an interview with Eurogamer.net at this year’s Game Convention.

It’s probably a good idea to cut some slack on Kojima’s behalf, how fun can it really be to design one of the best games of the year and then being forced to talk around the game? The Metal Gear games are strongly associated with the PlayStation systems and if Metal Gear Solid 4 is ported to other systems, so be it. Xbox 360 owners, keep your hopes up. PlayStation 3 owners, try to be big-hearted. Isn’t the simplicity beautiful?

Mr. Kojima also seems to dream for less complicated times, “Sometimes I even feel like it should be on a PC so that people don’t ask me about hardware and platforms,” he added. Since lots of games are developed on PC nowadays, and later on ported to the necessary systems, Kojima is definitely onto something.
