Brett Ratner wants to make a Guitar Hero movie
BY Brittany VincentAugust 29th, 2008 More on:

Because there aren’t enough horrible movie adaptations of our favorite video games, Brett Ratner has decided that a Guitar Hero movie would pretty much be the best idea ever. In a recent interview with MTV, Ratner spewed forth this winning statement: “I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie, if Activision would ever let me. I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie.”

Yes, Mr. Ratner. Because legions of fans of the franchise would really pay to go watch a movie about gamers’ frantic fingers hammering away at that infernal “Through the Fire and Flames,” which incidentally, is not even a good song. People would willingly trade money for tickets that would allow them to witness such spectacles as…oh, wait. Who am I kidding? Yes, people would actually go see this.

I don’t know about you but I’m hoping Activision vehemently refuses a movie deal for until, well, forever.
