EA has announced that they’ll be releasing the console versions of Dead Space a little earlier than previously advertised, in the UK at least. Instead of Halloween, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will now be able to step into the shoes of Isaac the mining tool touting engineer on October 24. The reason for the earlier release? According to the announcement “the decision to bring it to fans earlier was due to completing the game early.”
Yeah, I’m not buying it either. It’s not like a major publisher will re-arrange their launch plans just because the game reaches completion a few days earlier, especially when the last few months have been spent on giving the game a high polish. It’s more likely they saw an opportunity to get some publicity and took it, not that there’s anything wrong with that of course.
The PC version will still be released on Halloween a week later.
