“G.L.O.W.” to debut via DLC for Rock Band World Tour

First, you’re probably wondering what G.L.O.W. is. It happens to be the new single from the Smashing Pumpkins and it also happens to be debuting via DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour after the game launches. Second, you’re probably wondering why you never start a land war in Asia. No? Well then I’ll just tell you about Smashing Pumpkins I guess. Land wars in Asia are really interesting though…

G.L.O.W. is set to be released alongside 1979 and The Everlasting Gaze after the game launches in a three set pack that has no price or release date yet. This will mark the first time that an artist has recorded a new song exclusively for the franchise. Of course some other franchise, which shall remain nameless here, has already been doing this for a little while now. Still, it is good to see World Tour heavily promoting its DLC with deals such as this and a promising sign that they are taking DLC seriously for the game.

This probalby won’t be all we’re seeing of Billy Corgan and his band in World Tour either. Corgan has also been confirmed as an in-game character for Guitar Hero and the Pumpkins’ song “Today” will be accompanying him. I’ve always been a fan of the Pumpkins so it’s nice to see more of their music coming out, though this doesn’t sell me World Tour over Rock Band at all. How about you? Are you a big enough Pumpkins fan for this to swing your choice?

Ah, I see what you did there! Sly and quite critical with the title. They certainly have aped the concept, eh?

I like them as well, but RB2 still gets my dollars. The DLC wins it for me.
