Xbox 360 to drop below $200 in the US |

We all knew it was happening in Japan and thus just a matter of time before it happened in the U.S., but now it is official. The Xbox 360 Arcade price will drop down to $199, the normal 360 will drop to $299 and the Elite will only cost $399. Nice little discounts for the holiday season, and with the price of a 360 now lower than a Wii, that price point isn’t going to be so much of a contention as before. Think it will effect Wii sales? Then you’re crazy because nothing can stop the power of waggle.

I think this will affect Wii sales. (puts on flame-proof pants) Why’s the reason people bought the Wii? Sure, it was inovative, but it was because it was the cheapest. Now the the XBox sales is going to change that. Still, I think Wii will sell more in the end, can’t beat waggle…

I agree Devin. The Wii sales will slow down some this holiday season while the 360 will be going strong (assuming they can keep them on store shelves).
I hope this means a cut in the 120 GB HDD is coming as well.
