Faking the Band is a weekly feature detailing the latest in downloadable content for Rock Band.
The release of Rock Band 2 draws nigh, ladies and gentlemen. We’re a scant five days away from the next evolution of sweet, sweet virtual shredding. Of course, even that short a wait is nearly unbearable, but luckily the DLC geyser gushes on.
Today’s trio of tracks comes from the metalcore men (and woman) of All That Remains. Veteran rhythm gamers might remember the band from their blazing, cramp-inducing cut “Six” on ye olde Guitar Hero II. This time, they’ve got their own pack of DLC, featuring three patented headbangers with just a pinch of melodeath: “This Calling,” “Chiron” and “Two Weeks.” “Chiron” and “Two Weeks” are part of the group’s upcoming record Overcome and will be exclusive to the Rock Band platform for a whole week, as the album won’t hit store shelves until September 16. As if exclusive tracks weren’t enough of a draw, the three-pack will be available at a half-price discount for an entire month!
In other news, a bombshell out of popular media mag Entertainment Weekly: we can expect six new, full-length DLC albums in the coming months! The imminent sextet will cover a wide swath of rocking styles, everything from Megadeth’s thrash metal to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s electric blues to No Doubt’s bouncy ska-pop. No exact release dates or prices for these just yet, fellow gamers, but exciting news nonetheless!
All That Remains Pack 01 [80 MS points per song / 240 for pack / all masters]
NOTE: Price reverts to 160 / 440 standard on October 9.
