Since the Guitar Hero franchise burst onto the scene, making plastic guitar wankery the new black, there have been two musical legends I’ve wanted to get my rock on with: Prince and AC/DC. Rock Band 2 teased with AC/DC’s “Let There Be Rock,” but one song is like that time in high school when the really hot girl you had a crush on dropped her pencil, you went to pick it up at the exact same time as her and TOTALLY saw down her shirt. Yeah, one AC/DC track is like that…

The good news is we have to settle for a mere tease no more, because we’re getting the full on (live)show. Coming to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 on November 2nd and Wii on November 16th in the US, AC/DC’s “Live at Donington” performance (one of the greatest live recordings EVER!) will hit Walmart and Sam’s Club stores exclusively as a disc-based, standalone Rock Band track pack. The Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii versions will retail for $39.88 while the PS2 will go for $29.88. Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be thunderstruck in December and can nab it from most major retailers. While the track pack is being released as a standalone disc, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to export the 18 tracks via a code to make them playable in both Rock Band and Rock Band 2.

I don’t think I’m alone in my pant soiling excitement as any AC/DC fan will tell you the Donington performance is simply a balls-to-the-wall rock and roll experience nearly unmatched by mortal man. I’m currently gargling with glass and gun powder to achieve the Brian Johnson voice while wearing a school boy outfit. Oh, I’m not wearing it to be like Angus Young, I just like to wear a school boy outfit. Hopefully the track listing below will make you forget I ever said such a thing. Hopefully.
