Faking the Band 2 - They’re red hot [Sept. 30]
BY Jason R. WallaceSeptember 30th, 2008 More on:

Faking the Band 2 is a weekly feature detailing the latest in DLC for the Rock Band platform.

Now that LIVE is online again and the groundwork has been laid for this fall’s New Xbox Experience, rhythm gamers can carry on with their daily rockings. Here to welcome them back with a bang today is Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the multi-platinum breakthrough album from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This record is the second released of six full albums due for the Rock Band platform before the end of the year, the first being Megadeth’s Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a funky, energetic album laced with sexual innuendos and verbal ironies, sure to give gamers a little more grind and groove in their setlists. It includes a few well-known, time-tested Chili Peppers songs such as “Under the Bridge” and “Suck My Kiss.” Of course, that doesn’t include the record’s mammoth single “Give It Away,” which already has a home on the Rock Band 2 disc. But there are plenty of other, lesser known tracks available that are sure to please, like the groovy wah-wah fest “If You Have to Ask” and the SinĂ©ad O’Connor-inspired “I Could Have Lied.”

Considering Under the Bridge has one of the best guitar parts ever (although Frusciante has said he “stole” the riff from David Bowie’s “Andy Warhol”), this is very good news.
