It’s one thing to get us gamers to willingly pay close to or over $100 to curb our appetites for the latest generation of plastic rock n’ roll instruments. It’s quite another to announce a deluxe edition that features things that don’t seem to justify the higher price. Yet that’s what Activision is doing with its $240 Guitar Hero World Tour deluxe edition.
The regular bundle will sell for $190 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii which includes the game, wireless guitar, wireless drums, and a microphone. Yes that is a bit pricey, but that’s what happens when you throw drums into the mix. The deluxe edition comes with all of the above but also includes a XL t-shirt, recharge kit, dual gig bag, and key chain. We’re carrying plastic instruments in gig bags now? Pick your poison as you wish before Guitar Hero World Tour invades stores on October 26 in North America and November 7 in Europe.

I actually DO carry my plastic instrument in a gig bag, because I drive a scooter to my bandmate’s house, and I need to strap it to my back. It’s a real guitar gig bag though, so anybody who sees me probably thinks I’ve got a real guitar in it.
