Some sort of Castlevania coming to 360 and PS3
BY Matthew RazakOctober 10th, 2008 More on:

You think full details on Halo 3: Recon are scarce and its trailer was all too short? Well take a gander at the above video that announces a Castlevania game for the 360 and PS3, and you’ll get a whole new idea of what a short video with no details really is. If the Internet hadn’t already translated everything for us the only things we would know for sure is that it was a game from Konami and that it was hitting the PS3 and 360. Of course looking at the glowing swords and pale skin I think anyone would have been able to assume it had something to do with Castlevania.

So what do you want to see? I know I bemoan the idea of a 3D Castlevania but a 2.5D platforming masterpiece would make me get all tingly in all the right places. Still people like they’re pretty graphics and three dimensions so Konami will probably go that direction. It’s interesting that the Wii is left out here, especially with the DS Castlevanias doing so well. Might that be a hint that the machine can’t handle it and thus a hint that it isn’t in 2D?

I’d say full on 3D is fairly certain. I think it could turn out to be great, or at least the story with HD/fancy cut scenes will be great. I know the gameplay for Lament of Innocense wasn’t thrilling, but I really got into the story of it. If you haven’t played it, the story tells how the Vampire Killer whip came about. Good stuff!
