Splash Damage hoarding top talent for winter
BY Thom DinsdaleOctober 15th, 2008 More on:

Something big is going on at Splash Damage. In the last six months the studio has formed a partnership with Fallout 3 creators Bethesda, made a string of high-profile additions to its team and today announced that it is taking on yet another quintet of top level talent from around the industry, telling the economy where it can stick its recession in the process.

This latest wave of reinforcements sees Fabio Bonvicini (Black), Mattias Engström (World in Conflict), Oliver Jauncey (Mass Effect), Mark Lack and Dean Calver (Heavenly Sword) all join the award winning studio’s senior development team.

“I’m really excited to be starting here,” said Dean Calver, previously the Lead Programmer behind Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword. “I had the luxury of taking the time to pick a studio and role that really seemed to fit and this is it.”

“Despite the reported industry skills shortage, we’re constantly amazed at the quality of candidates applying at Splash Damage,” said studio owner Paul Wedgwood. “We’re building the best team we’ve ever had.”

If this all seems strangely familiar then that’s because it is. Back in July the company announced a similar boost in talent with four more notable additions. Right now, its anybody’s guess what they’re doing behind closed door with all these fresh, new, talented faces.
