22 days of Gears mayhem in Australia
BY Alix MinjarezOct. 17th, 2008 More on:

Find yourself an extremely nice Aussie friend as Microsoft has launched 22 days of Mayhem, which is exactly that: 22 days to win lots of free goodies. Microsoft is doing this to help promote the release of Gears of War 2 (like it really needs it) and since they are aware of how much people in Australia are in love with the first game, it’s only fair that they prepare fans for the sequel by having them play the original in order to win free stuff. Now I just need to find a way to hitchhike my way over the ocean.

This is in perfect sync with when the game comes out, November 7th, so think of it as a great opportunity to sharpen your skills. If you are interested in taking part in this event then all you have to do is go online and play the multiplayer in the first Gears. That’s when the prizes start flowing out for one lucky winner, with 22 in total (thats one a day, maths fans).

Said lucky winner gets quite a few cool prizes, like 100,000 MS points and a Gears 2 poster signed by Cliff Bleszinski. If you want the big prize, and I mean big, then you have to play at least one multiplayer match on each and every one of the twenty-two days. Accomplish that and the prize will be a Ford Falcon Ute. Pretty sweet, huh?

Twenty-two days? I think I can make it across the ocean in time to get a few games in. But for all those that don’t need to worry, good luck and happy chainsaw killings!
