Earlier this week, news broke that suggested Metal Gear Solid 4 could be sneaking away from its PS3 exclusivity and on to Xbox 360. A Konami spokesperson was quoted as saying that the company was “actively looking in to a release” of the game on Microsoft’s console. We covered the story in full here.
However, the Kabushiki business journal, where the story originated, has now removed all trace of the quote and replaced it with another. Where we once had some juicy ‘MGS4 coming your way Xbox-ers’ action, we now have, “While making full use of each platform’s strong suits, we are going multi-platform now.”
Bit of a change isn’t it? I’m guessing someone got a slap on the back of the legs. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Hideo Kojima’s latest isn’t on its way to 360, but it does mean that the rumour mill will continue to rumble on for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned.
A child of the Spectrum generation, I've been playing games since they came on cassettes and made that screechy loading noise. Now they just make me stare at funny spinny circles. That's progress.
