Is Sony preparing to offer real life rewards for in-game achievements?
BY Se AjalaOctober 20th, 2008 More on:

There’s an interesting thought. You spend an average of 5-10 hours trying to complete a game, filling in the blanks of the storyline and treating yourself to that vaunted well orchestrated ending. Along the way you manage to pick up some in-game achievements/trophies, adding them to your laundry list of bragging rights to show off to your friends.

Well if you own a PS3 word on the street is that you could be getting more bang for your hard earned time at trying to beat that impossible level with impossible odds, than a mere gold, silver, or bronze trophy to show for it. The latest issue of the Official Playstation Magazine reports that Sony is looking into a “Trophy reward system,” that will give players more than just digi cred. They go on the record to say, “We doubt it’ll be cash (or the equivalent), but we suspect it might be exclusive access to early betas and the like.”

Come to think of it, that wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
