Recently the word has gone around about E3 becoming a bit more exciting once again, which of course is music to the ears. But, sadly, according to a recent Joystiq interview with ESA president and CEO Mike Gallagher, the excitement will be limited to only members of the press once again.
Many E3 related topics were discussed in the interview, but when asked about the public days, Gallagher simply stated, “I wouldn’t expect that.” According to Gallagher, the idea of making E3 open to the public was brought up during a discussion, but “didn’t receive stand alone attention.”

That is too bad. The public is what made E3 so great. Getting reports from friends that went was the best. Maybe not open the full time, but open it to the public the last day or two. Otherwise what is the point of scaling it back up?
