Faking the Band 2 - Land of the free [Nov. 4]
BY Jason R. Wallace Nov. 4th, 2008 More on:

Once tired of the MIDI-esque masterpieces of GHTunes, gamers can download a solid chunk of World Tour DLC. Take a gander at the content already available:

  • Metallica’s newest album Death Magnetic (with two, alternate-solo versions of “Suicide & Redemption”)
  • A Classic Rock Track Pack with Boston, Foreigner and Rick Springfield
  • Blind Melon’s “No Rain”
  • Two free track packs, one with the game’s Nugent and Wylde guitar duels and the other featuring musicians from Neversoft itself.
  • An R.E.M. Pack with songs from their latest album Accelerate: “Horse to Water,” “Man-Sized Wreath” and “Supernatural Superserious”

The fresh rockings this week - Thursday, November 6, to be exact - come from Dig Out Your Soul, the new album by Oasis. “Bag It Up,” “Waiting for the Rapture” and “The Shock of the Lightning” are sure to be a barrel of Britrock fun, provided there aren’t any fraternal disputes, and the rest of the album is slated to show sometime next year. The next day, however, Jack White and Alicia Keys’ quirky theme song from Quantum of Solace, “Another Way to Die,” will definitely arrive. We here at TVGB will refrain from using any clichés. Gamers can insert their own “shaken, not stirred” comments!

I picked up all 5 songs today for RB2 and I liked all of them pretty well. The Presidents Pack is a nice change of pace and the other two both are great fun.
