Metal Gear Online pushes past 1 million
BY Thom DinsdaleNovember 4th, 2008 More on:

Well it took some doing, and there were many bumps in the road, but they’ve finally got there. Metal Gear Online has officially hit one million users since its launch in June of this year. But delayed beta, Konami ID, poor server capacity and ineffective online store aside, this momentous occasion was a long time coming and Konami has every reason to give itself (and its patrons) a good old pat on the back.

Konami has announced plans to celebrate this milestone through an in-game campaign promotion. The Metal Gear Online: Commemorative Campaign will run from November 25 through to December 9, which means any player who logs into the service during this period will be awarded the tidy sum of 10,000 points on the last day. Players will also be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a further 100,000 points that will be redeemable in the online store. Not a bad deal to be on the receiving end of for just playing a game you like.
