Poor old Fallout 3, it’s not had a very good run of things on the censorship front. First, there was the whole debacle in Australia regarding morphine and self medication. Then the game was pulled at the last minute from release in India, supposedly because the game also features mutated cows, which are of course a sacred symbol in India. Now, if that weren’t enough censorship for one title, Bethesda has announced that the game will undergo further editing before it is let loose on the Japanese market. The cuts supposedly relate to the level of blood in the title along with references to atomic weaponry, which is understandable given 20th century history.

JAPAN! JA-f’kn-PAN?! The country that gave the rest of the world things like Tentacle rape, bukkake, hentai, Omorashi (look it up), along with movies such as Urotsukidoji, Akira, Blood the last Vampire, La Blue Girl, Immoral sisters, bible black, F3, Mystery of the Necronomicon, Stepmother’s Sin, Nightshift nurses, Magical twilight and Tokyo Private Police… oops i’ve gone off on a tangent here… Demon city Shinjuku, Elfen Lied and Genocyber are going to censor a videogame because it’s too bloody?
Oh wait. Wait no it references atomic weaponry. OH well that makes sense. I heard Germany is gonna ban anything that mentions “3rd reich,” China is censoring anything that talks of Democracy, and the US has replaced the word “terrorist” with “Kittens.” Come on, guys. You pretty much run our country with your electronics and REDICULOUSLY WELL BUILT cars (Toyota driver, here :P). Let the healing begin.
Now if you excuse, me, I have to go kill some kittens.

Yea, taking out an entire story is kind of crazy. At least the didn’t ban the game outright.
