Street Fighter movie coming to Blu-ray |

Yes we’re talking about the live action one, not any of the myriad of anime ones released over the years. The Street Fighter which featured Jean-Claude Van Damme and contained Raul Julia’s finial performance (what a way to go). When first released the film was a dud, but much like the Mario film, over the years the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad movie turned into a cult classic. Sometimes these things happen. Now we can all enjoy said cult classic in crisper and clearer picture with the release of Street Fighter: Extreme Edition on Blu-ray this Feb. 10, which just happens to be around the time SFIV comes out.
What does one get other than the awesomeness of JCVD? A whole host of special features to play in your PS3. These include, but aren’t limited to, trailers for the upcoming game and anime, making of documentaries, delted scenes, storyboards and commentary from the director. I’m pretty much surprised they even storyboarded the thing and am definitely looking forward to seeing if director Steven de Souza takes it all super seriously, or if he’s smart enough to deliver his commentary with a bit of tongue-in-cheek. Did you know that he also wrote Die Hard, The Running Man and the second Tomb Raider movie?

Woah…do I need to buy a new device to watch this EPIC movie? I watch all my movies on a PS3, can’t afford a new one.

I thought this movie had some good humor, but would be better suited as an all out action movie. The Running Man, now that could be a great game!
