Guitar Hero takes us on a musical journey through the Decades
BY Luke WalkerNovember 14th, 2008 More on:

Hot on the 80’s fashion heels of Guitar Hero: On Tour’s major success comes Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades. This newest edition is taking the series in a very slightly new direction theme wise and will give DS owners even more game features to rock out to.

Decades will give on the go rockers the chance to build their virtual careers from the classic music of the 1970s to today’s hottest music. On the way they will be able to deck out their characters in decade-themed costumes and venues (please no glam rock and feathers). The soundtrack will include 28 master tracks spanning the greatest eras in rock from artists like Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, R.E.M and Queen. Twenty one of the tracks will be Decades exclusives, while the rest come from On Tour. The announced song list so far includes:

  • 1970s: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama (Live)
  • 1980s: Bon Jovi - You Give Love a Bad Name
  • 1990s: Blind Melon - No Rain
  • 2000s: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can’t Stop
  • Modern: Foo Fighters - The Pretender

On top of the solo career paths (Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar and Guitar Duel), players will still have multi-player options with coop and battle mode featuring DS exclusive Battle Items. Also, for the first time in the series, owners of the original On Tour and the new Decades will be able to wirelessly stream over 50 songs from the two games.

Gamers can keep the rock party going with Decades starting Sunday, Nov. 16 in North America and oh yeah, NOW in European markets.
