New Xbox Experience intro video is full of funk
BY Rain AndersonNovember 19th, 2008 More on:

Here’s a new, and a rather well done, video Microsoft has produced to celebrate the launch of the New Xbox Experience. As explained below in the Major Nelson-voiced ‘How to Update to NXE’ tutorial video, this is the intro video we’ll be seeing just after downloading the update and before being logged in to the shiny new interface for the first time.

The NXE update itself should happen within a few hours, so after checking these two videos, do come and keep us company as we frantically log in and out of Xbox LIVE, hoping to be among the first to get our boxes updated.

Been playing with NXE for a few days now. It’s ok. Looks nicer, runs a bit faster, the avatar was fun to make for about 5 minutes, then useless ever since. Erm, the guide button menu thing is better. But it’s the install noise reduction. Yeah, that’s some good stuff. My Xbox now purrrs where it once roared.

Just played around with for about 15 minutes. Pretty damn cool and much smoother that I thought it’d really be. Getting an error when trying to access the Marketplace though, but that’ll be probably fixed by the end of the day.

While creating the Avatar, the clothes selection is rather limited, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing some additional items in the future that will cost a little something.

But overall, while it’s gonna take some getting used to for sure, I like where they’re going with it.

Pretty good, although the Netflix addition is lackluster in my opinion. Maybe its because I’m bitter I can’t stream movies in HD and the resolution I do get is horrible…even though i have a 54.0 mbps connection. =(
