Why Sony just doesn’t give in is beyond me. Don’t they see that if they lower the price on the perceived to be overly expensive PlayStation 3 they might actually get better sales? No matter, because Sony isn’t budging when it comes to dropping the price on their latest system, despite their being rumors to the contrary.

While there have been talks that have shot down the rumors already, a representative from SCEA has stated that, “There are no plans for a price reduction on the PS3 in March 09, and anything reported on or discussed otherwise is purely rumor or speculation.” So those people who have been hoping to keep their wallets at least a little bit fatter when it comes to getting a PS3 have to go back to playing whatever they have now, at least until Sony decides to be kind and follow in the footsteps of Microsoft.
