Nintendo to educate your A**
BY Antonio Hernandez Dec. 12th, 2008 More on:

Who would have thought that the company that had me mindlessly jumping on turtles would one day seek to educate me on Shakespeare? Well, that’s exactly what Nintendo is gearing up to do. Nintendo has announced a deal with HarperCollins to publish literary classics on the DS. Oh yes, we’re talking Shakespeare, Dickens, Jane Austen, and all those other juicy masters of the pen (yes, I said juicy). The 100 Classic Book Collection would be available on the Nintendo DS, with the user holding their device like an actual book to read.

With Amazon and Sony already battling it out for this ebook market, Nintendo’s involvement has the potential to make some serious waves. The Classic Book Collection will cost you about $30, but will only be available to the United Kingdom when it launches Dec. 26. Which is good, because I’m pretty sure that they are the only country that reads anymore.
