New inFamous gameplay footage is electrifying
BY Dennis Lesica Dec. 19th, 2008 More on:

I hate myself for writing the title to this post, but it was either that or a Grease reference. Either way, the damage is done and we can move on to more important things such as who’s getting me ice cream and how badass the new gameplay footage of Sucker Punch’s PS3 exclusive, inFamous, from G4’s X-Play is.

During the 12 minutes of genuine gameplay (GASP!), we see the protagonist, Cole, maraude around the open-world environment of Empire City whilst blowing things and people to smithereens with his powers of electricity — dig that scene where he puts that poor sap on the ground and owns his face! Along the way, Sucker Punch’s Nate Fox provides insight into why Cole’s powers involve electricity, the morality system and how superheroes need love too.

My excitement for the game has shot up about 19.7 points (it’s my scale that you’ll never understand) and can’t wait for it to come out. Is it because I want to play it very badly? Kinda. Is it because when it’s out it means we’re one step closer to Sly Cooper 4? You bet your sweet hiney.

It seemed a bit unpolished and those “super villains” looked more like something out of Zeno Clash. I think it’s going to be fun though. Well, that was my three comments in this article. Moving on…
