Capcom saying Yes We Can to 2009
BY Luke Walker Jan. 5th, 2009 More on:

Well, 2008 is out the window and damn was it a fun ride! We could write all day about what we loved, hated or still can’t put down, but that would leave us no time to play and get all hyper about 2009. So, to get the salivary glands ready for another stellar year, here is what Capcom has headed our way in the next few months.

February will bring us Flock!, Capcom’s first downloadable game of the year for Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC. Flock! sounds good in theory, asking players fly a UFO to herd animals into the mothership. Humorous? Perhaps, but do they have an anal probe a la Destroy all Humans? Younger gamers maybe interested in Neopets Puzzle Adventure dropping Feb. 27 for Wii, DS and PC; but what is really cool is that Street Fighter IV will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Feb. 20. This is one of the big ones of 2009, from a series already boasting worldwide sales over 25 million. Also on Feb. 27 is Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop for Wii. Will this remake be worthy of purchase? Meh, we’ll see.

March will be huge with the mega release of Resident Evil 5. If you haven’t already done so, mark your calendars for Friday the 13th. What else can we say except why haven’t they put the demo here in the States yet? In March we’ll also see the release of MotoGP for Wii, which will turn our Wii remotes into handlebars complete with high whining engine sounds (at least untill the neighbors start complaining or our lungs get tired). This release comes just in time for the 2009 MotoGP pre-season. Finally, the first true sequel to the retrotastic (real word that one) Bionic Commando for the Xbox 360 and PS3. No word yet on the PC release date, but we’re sure it won’t be too long after.

Yes, 2009 is shaping up to be a good year for gamers, but what more can Capcom do for us? How about another remake?
