Molyneux not excited about 2009 line-up
BY Jeremy Hill Jan. 5th, 2009 More on:

2008 was a huge year for gaming with quite a bit of emphasis being put on sequels. It was so massive a lot of us still haven’t been able to catch up with them all. January gives us a bit of time to rest as there aren’t as many top tier games to look for and we aren’t the only ones to think that. Peter Molyneux, the head of Lionhead Studios, spoke to the BBC about the future of the gaming market and how he thinks 2009 will compare to 2008.

“Next year [2009], well, it’s all looking a bit dry. All the triple A titles came out this Christmas and while there is stuff in 2010 we can look forward to, off the top of my head I cannot think of anything next year that really excites me,” said Molyneux.

Molyneux did praise GTA IV for its brilliant cut scenes and Rockstar’s ability to characterize the game in a good way. LittleBigPlanet was one of his personal favorites because of its artistic direction, despite its somewhat disappointing sales figures. He also thinks that there will be some pressure to lower the price of games.

As for Lionhead itself, Molyneux said they are working on a super secret project that may get announced sometime in 2009.

      It’s a pretty exciting year for PS3 owners !

And microsoft have yet to announce anything but im sure it wont be long.

The Wii looks to be picking up too.

Personally I am looking forward to the following:

      -prototype
      -res 5
-Infamous (presuming it isnt a cheap rip of prototype and brings something else to the table)
-Killzone 2 (again hoping it brings something besides the jaw dropping graphics)
      -Heavy Rain
-that halo game (I should find out what it’s called but hopefully itll be good)
      -The conduit
      -resistance for psp
      -gta for psp
      -batman
      -COD6

Im pretty sure I could find more but I really cant see it being any less spectacular than 08/09

Don’t forget Little King’s Story. It could end up being the pick of the bunch on the Wii.
