Mass Effect 2 showing up at GDC 09 |

Even though the original Mass Effect was a great game despite tons of texture pop-in and slowdown, BioWare has been tight lipped about the sequel. That’s all likely to change this March once the Games Developers Conference kicks off in San Francisco. The event schedule on the GDC website shows an hour long lecture that will discuss Mass Effect 2’s level design and how the team is trying to make quality levels while reducing costs.
The lecture will be headed up by BioWare’s project manager Corey Andruko and BioWare’s lead technical designer Dusty Everman. This session is geared towards people who are in the business of game development and level design instead of just rabid fans like ourselves. At least we know for sure that development has been underway long enough to hold a lecture about the games level design.

I just wish I could get this on the PS3. I loved Mass Effect, but I’d like to move away from the 360 because of the hardware issues (I have a refurb’d RROD unit).
