F.E.A.R. 2 demo next week, NY event this weekend
BY Lee Bradley Jan. 16th, 2009 More on:

Those non-Qore subscribers hungry for a taste of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin can sate their appetites next week as a demo for the game is hitting Playstation Network, Xbox Live and PC. Available from Jan. 22 (that’s Thursday, day fans), the press release says the demo will allow players to “maneuver through bloodstained corridors and hallways from several locations in the game, as they combat through various parts of the city of Auburn, which now lays in ruin after the catastrophic explosion that rocked the finale of F.E.A.R.

PC people will have to head on over to www.whatisfear.com to download the Games for Windows version, whilst console gamers can… well, you know what to do. Alternatively, for those that simply cannot wait until next week, an event is being held in NY this weekend. The culmination of that mysterious viral marketing/treasure hunt we got wind of late last year, the event promises eager gamers a sneaky early preview of F.E.A.R. 2. More details after the break.

According to the release,”This Saturday and Sunday, January 17th and 18th from 11am - 7pm, our mobile F.E.A.R Lab will be parked outside of the GameStop at 1282 Broadway on the corner of Broadway and 33rd (near Herald Square) to give a sneak preview of the upcoming first person shooter game F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin.” Frankly, we’re relieved they just told us. Trying to make sense of all those creepy videos and weird websites was making our tiny brains hurt.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin game hits shelves in the US on Feb. 10, worldwide Feb. 13. Keep an eye out (not literally please, that’s gross) for more F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin coverage on TVGB next week.

FEAR 1 did so much right, but so much more wrong. Here’s hoping it’s all fixed because it had the stuff of greatness it did.
