First Wii controlled GameCube games dated
BY Jeremy Hill Jan. 20th, 2009 More on:

Nintendo has officially announced the UK release dates for the first GameCube games that will use Wii controls. This is part of Nintendo’s effort to redistribute old games with a modern control twist, so like it or love it, the catalogue of GameCube games rehashed for the Wii will continue to grow.

The first game announced is Pikmin which will be released in the UK on February 6th 2009. Mario Power Tennis will be available one month later on March 6, 2009. There’s no word on a North American release date yet. The games won’t really look any better or include any additional modes, but we can rest assured we’ll be able to waggle to our hearts’ content.

Later in the year Nintendo will bring Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Pikmin 2 to the Wii to be apart of the New Play Control! initiative as well.

saying that, this is good news. Means the metroid games are almost certainly coming to the UK.

Like it or love it? Are those the only two options?

I never got to play Pikmin 2. I might just get it with the new controls.
