UK Wii-makes going (relatively) cheap |

Yesterday Nintendo brought UK release dates for the first of the GameCube remakes for Wii. Today we’ve got prices, and they are cheaper than we thought. It was initially suggested that the remakes — coming under the banner of New Control Play! — would be full priced releases, with an RRP of £39.99. However, Nintendo have explained to Eurogamer that the suggested price will be a little more reasonable.
“Nintendo do not set prices,” said a spokesperson for the company. “It is up to retailers at what price they sell any item for… However, our trade price for these games will be below our usual trade price for Wii games and our present estimate of the likely retail price is in the region of GBP 29.99.”
So 30 quid then, that’s more like it. UK gamers can grab Pikmin on Feb. 6, Mario Tennis on Mar. 6, with Pikmin 2 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat to follow later in the year.

I think 20 would be more reasonable.

If you’re looking at playing the games for a 2nd time, 30 quid is steep. But if you’re new to them, the price seems reasonable. We’re all at Nintendo’s mercy when it comes to pricing. They could sell these games for full price and still see huge sales.

thats true about being at their mercy but honestly should these be at the standard platinum/classic pricing of other games?
Most of these iv never played and might pick up but without any update in graphics or extra modes im not so tempted with the £30 pricing.
I might just pick up the 2 metroid titles and ignore pikmin which I wanted to check out.

Pikmin 2 is on my list, and possibly Prime 2.

The upgrade to widescreen and minor tweeks make the Prime games a must for me. Maybe I should pick up Pikmin, since I never played either of them before. Then again, that guy is a dork in Smash Bros, so I’ll pass.

lets not forget that this is rrp. it won’t take too much effort to look around and find these for £25… which is perfect. i’d even be tempted to stock up on a few myself.
