It’s time for some soft news. We are not going to talk about massive layoffs or some guy going on a murderous rampage because “vidja games made him do it.” We’re going to take a look back to the beginnings of Team Fortress 2. One of the first characters Valve worked on visually was The Scout. Before he became the baseball bat wielding east coast guy we know and love, he was nothing more than a funny looking delivery boy.

We do appreciate how Valve decided to forgo some of the earlier concept art. The end result is a mixture between the delivery boy and hired mercenary style drawings. This is an entertaining look into the evolution of the characters of Team Fortress 2. Here’s hoping Valve shares even more with us in the future.
