Guild Wars 2 not delayed, after all
BY Rain Anderson Feb. 17th, 2009 More on:

Some days ago, news arrived that due to an on-going restructuring at NCsoft, the release of Guild Wars 2 has been given a rather wide release window of 2010-2011 — something that was taken as a delay. Today, a letter to the fans has been published on guildwars.com which explains that the whole reason behind the restructuring is in fact to put the necessary focus on the company’s high-profile titles. Titles like Guild Wars 2.

In the letter, Mike O’Brien from developer ArenaNet writes that besides the id Software-trademarked “when it’s done,” they’ve “never given a release date for Guild Wars 2” but assures that their team continues to grow and they have the “strong support” as well as the financial backing necessary to make Guild Wars 2 the best online RPG ever, and adds that this is “a large and ambitious game, and we’re going to take the time to do it right.”

So, no delay here. The game is just some ways away.
