A good way to celebrate the release of your game, 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand, is to publicly state that you plan to take an even crazier series, in this case, Saints Row and make it into a movie, (Saints Row 3 is also being developed). Well, maybe not acting as a director (maybe a producer?), but he says he plans to develop Saints Row into a screenplay. He’s currently optioning the rights for it and says, “you’ll see that before you see me attempt to do a film adaptation of my games.”
He also mentioned that he wanted to feature a mechanic [in Blood on The Sand] that was seen in Army of Two and Gears Of War. That mechanic? A cover system, “Both of those games have a similar engine, a similar technology. Both of those games are great games, so that bracket ain’t a bad bracket to be in.” Touche! He also admitted that 50 Cent: Bulletproof was difficult to control, so we’re certainly happy he decided to make some changes for this second game.
It’s also worth noting that the diamon-encrusted skull featured in Blood on The Sand is based on a real-life piece that was auctioned off for 100 million dollars. Holy s#!%!
