Xbox was key for overseas success, says Capcom
BY Rain Anderson Mar. 3rd, 2009 More on:

In a public relations interview, Keiji Inafune, Capcom’s managing corporate officer and global head of research and development, said the Xbox 360 was the key to the company’s success in overseas markets. “I think I can only get away with saying this now, but I really thought that using the Xbox was the only way to break into overseas markets, and I took that hypothesis all the way. In the end, I am very happy that I did so,” Inafune said.

Capcom developed Lost Planet as a timed exclusive, and Dead Rising exclusively for Microsoft’s system fairly early in the console’s life cycle and both became big hits for the company. Both games also have sequels in the works, with Dead Rising 2 confirmed to be a multi-platform title while Lost Planet 2 is only announced for the 360 right now.
