THQ clarifies layoffs
BY Jeremy Hill Mar. 4th, 2009 More on:

Amid the growing unemployment and layoff climate around the world, sometimes facts get mixed up in the process. Today Julie MacMedan, Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for THQ, cleared up any confusion regarding whom in the company were let go.

There were layoffs yesterday at the Champaign, Il QA facility which will eventually lead to the facilities closure. Sixteen employees from there will be transferred to Volition. Volition itself will not see any layoffs in its core development teams and will still hold jobs for 236 employees.

86 people were let go including 47 temporary employees and 39 full-time staffers. THQ assures they will give each former employee 60 days notice and assitance in finding new positions within the company.
