Tomb Raider DLC stays on the dark path
BY Matthew Razak Mar. 5th, 2009 More on:

Most of the time DLC simply gives us more of what we already had. In the case of Tomb Raider: Underworld’s DLC, Lara’s Shadow, this isn’t true at all. In fact players won’t even be controlling Lara Croft this time around, instead jumping into the shoes of her Doppleganger. From what the devs are saying this looks like a change not only in tone, but in gameplay itself. More action and less exploring. Hopefully they’ve reworked a few of Lara’s fighting mechanics to make the game play better this way. Seems that giant world puzzles are still around, but a Tomb Raider with emphasis on battle should be interesting to say the least.

I was actually pumped for the DLCs, but they chose to expand on the two worst environments that were in the full game. Would have the DLC enviroments be more like Thailand, or a place that wasn’t in the game like Egypt for example, then I would have jumped on these like that *snap*

But these, I just don’t know. Not buying until both are cheaper, of that I’m sure.
