Capcom has announced that they’re bringing back The Mercenaries mini game for Resident Evil 5. The unlockable survival challenge mode will pit players against constantly-spawning swarms of tougher enemies, with less ammo and an ever-diminishing time limit. In expectation of the desperate struggles for survival to come, they’ve released gameplay footage of Chris and Sheva battling back the mutant hordes in The Mercenaries-mode, along with 12 screens for those who want a closer look at the all the wrench-wielding action.

Though they didn’t get specific, we’re assuming you unlock The Mercenaries mini game the same way you did in Resident Evil 4, by simply beating the main game.
