The SciFi Channel tries to find the ultimate gamer
BY Chad George Mar. 6th, 2009 More on:

The SciFi Channel is bringing us an inside view of a world most of us will never experience, the life of a gamer. This totally realistic glimpse into how the normal videogame player lives and interacts with other people will shed a much needed light on the dark and seedy profession of cyber-athletics. </sarcasm>

Honestly, WCG Ultimate Gamer, premiering March 10 on the SciFi Channel, looks to be really cool. It pits 12 real-life gamers against one another as they live together Real World-style in a loft in downtown Los Angeles and compete against each other in both videogame based competitions as well as real-life challenges. All strive to take home a $100,000 grand prize, an “ultimate Samsung electronics package, complete with the company’s most advanced technology products,” and become the representative of the WCG at events around the world, including the 2009 Grand Final in China.

It should be worth a first look if for nothing else but to see if one of the contestants starts randomly singing into their headset.
