As we have reported earlier, Ghostbusters: The Video Game will brings back the voices of Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, and much of the original cast. But it apparently left someone out. Destructoid is reporting that although she is on record saying she was not offered a part, Ghostbusters’ developers, Terminal Reality, are claiming that she turned them down.
Given the conflicting reports, we don’t know exactly what happened. She may or may not have known who was involved when she turned down the chance to be in an AMAZING game. What we do know is that after learning that the game was totally legit, and that Bill Murray was involved, Weaver wanted back in. But too late. Terminal Reality had already cast another leading lady in Weaver’s place and was not willing to include her that late in the process. I know that this could all be a misunderstanding, but I can’t help but experience a little schadenfreude at the thought of someone regretting that she underestimated a videogame. Payback is a bitch, isn’t it?
